Are You Showing Up As Your Most Authentic Self?

5 ways to connect more genuinely with your community.

Hi friend!

First of all, what does it mean to be your most authentic self? Honestly, I don’t think that’s a question I can necessarily answer for you. So take a few minutes and think about what it means to you to be your most authentic self.

I can share what it means to me. To me, being my most authentic self means embracing my strengths and owning my weaknesses. While I do fall into the solopreneur trap of doing everything myself, I’ve learned a lot more about myself and what I enjoy in running my business versus the things I feel like I have to do. Case in point—this newsletter. Creating content, both written and in video format, is something I truly enjoy.

Balancing the books, on the other hand, not so fun.

Showing up authentically to my community also means making genuine connections. I can tell when I vibe with a particular person (or most people in my dog community), and when I do, I invest more effort into engaging with that person in a genuine way. I’ll ask how their job search is going, if their dog is feeling better from the sidewalk chicken they ate, even how things are with their relationship.

And I, in turn, am an open book with my community as well. I try to share as transparently as I can (within my own boundaries, which we’ll get into in future newsletters), and I often find that my community is a huge source of support for me as well. Here are 5 ways you can connect more genuinely with your community.
